At Major Housing Association, we are dedicated to delivering housing solutions that not only meet today’s needs but also support a sustainable future. Our commitment to environmental responsibility, social impact, and economic affordability is reflected in all aspects of our work, from the homes we develop to the services we provide.

Our developments focus on delivering affordable housing aligned with Local Authority policy goals. Supported by the GLA, we ensure that both current and future tenants benefit from Affordable rental schemes. Key projects include Seven Kings (58 affordable rent tenure homes) in LB Redbridge, Church Elm Lane (91 affordable rent tenure homes) in LB Barking & Dagenham, and Newbury Park (177 affordable rent tenure homes) in LB Redbridge. Additionally, developments like Seven Kings (completing in October 2024) and Church Elm Lane (completing in 2025) have integrated advanced energy strategies, including air source heat pumps and pre-fabricated building systems to minimize carbon footprints.
Our sustainability approach prioritizes energy efficiency and low-carbon construction. We incorporate air source heat pumps, superior insulation, and advanced ventilation systems (MVRH) to reduce the need for traditional heating, lowering both energy costs and carbon emissions. The High Road Ilford project demonstrated an 80% A-rated EPC success, and Newbury Park, our latest development, aims for a 50% improvement over current building regulations, setting new standards in sustainable residential development.
We aim to rejuvenate vacant sites, creating diverse communities through mixed home types and tenures. Developments include fully accessible homes for disabled residents and community spaces, promoting inclusivity. Early-stage community engagement ensures that future developments, such as Newbury Park, align with local needs.
Majority of our developments are managed by BME providers, empowering minority-owned businesses. We continue to offer affordable commercial spaces for community use, supporting local entrepreneurship. Our board and staff composition reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
All developments incorporate climate mitigation strategies, including responses to flooding and overheating risks. We ensure long-term resilience and affordability through proactive risk management and sustainable building designs.
By integrating advanced construction techniques, renewable technologies, and eco-friendly materials, Major Housing continues to push the boundaries of sustainable housing. We are committed to creating homes that provide a healthier, more affordable living environment, reducing the environmental impact for generations to come.
